This months Informational Meeting will feature Dianna Greenwood, Texas State Rifle Association.
Dianna Greenwood is currently the Executive Director of the Texas State Rifle Association. A position she has held since November of 2021. She is the former Chairman of the Bastrop County Republican Party serving in that position from 2018 to 2020. Dianna has extensive involvement in the political world both here in Texas and in another state. She was the founder of the Ashland Ohio Tea Party, a Congressional Campaign
Manager, and has participated in numerous elections and campaigns. In addition to her many political activities, Dianna has been a member of the Government Affairs Committee for the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman of the Red, White, and Blue Veterans of Bastrop County, the Bastrop Education Foundation, and a volunteer for the Bastrop Museum. For her work at the museum, she was named a Volunteer of the Year for the City of Bastrop. In November of 2021, her fellow veterans honored her with the Enlisted Veteran of the Year Award.
She is a former adjunct professor for Concordia University teaching American History. From 1995-1997 she was a member of the Marine Corps and attained the rank of Lance Corporal before being honorably discharged. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Arizona and an M.A. from Ashland University. She currently resides in Bastrop, Texas with her daughter, Katharine, and enjoys traveling to historic sites.

What: Voter Registration Booth
Where: Elgin Memorial Park,
1127 North Main St. (corner of Main St. & Highway 95 North)
When: Saturday, June 24; 8:00 am – 5:30 pm
Who: Minimum two volunteers/shift to include one VDR for time slots 10 am – 5:30 pm
Shifts:
The 26-acre Elgin Memorial Park is shady and there’s a playground, restrooms, picnic tables and grills. You are encourage to bring your family and friends to enjoy the parade (begins at 10 am), all the booths (10-5), carnival (10-6), live bands (begin at 11:30 am) or even sign up for either the 8- team volleyball tournament or the Ain’t No Coward Cornhole Challenge.

Lyle Nelson was sworn in as Mayor for the City of Bastrop at 6:00 PM, June 20th, 2023 reciting the Oath of Office administered by Judge Christopher Duggan while his daughter Hannah Robinson held their family bible and grandson Elijah Valderez lead the pledges of allegiance. The ceremony was held in the Bastrop City Council Chambers and attended by family, friends, supporters and City Council members. Mayor Nelson will work to improve the city infrastructure, roads, positive development, and managed growth among other issues.
City of Bastrop voters turned out in the numbers necessary to elect Lyle Nelson as the next City of Bastrop Mayor, defeating opponent Dock Jackson by 46 votes. Nelson had 567 votes, to Jackson’s 521, and will succeed Connie Schroeder who is stepping down after 2 terms. The swearing in ceremony will be held June 20th, 2023 at 6:00PM at City Hall.
On Sunday Mayor Elect Nelson commented “I am honored and humbled to be elected as Bastrop’s next mayor. I believe the key to winning was voter involvement as well as a consistent message about continuing to address our infrastructure and encouraging positive development.”
The pride of Bastrop City voters in this election is evidenced by the support from individuals and organizations throughout Bastrop County. Congratulations Mayor Elect Lyle Nelson !

Texas Latino Conservatives believes that the future of Texas will be more Hispanic, and more conservative. We are building this future by mobilizing Latino voters to elect and re-elect conservative candidates, recruiting, training, and supporting qualified conservative Latino candidates for local, county, and statewide office, managing issue-based campaigns designed to connect first with compassion and then mobilize voters, and launch long-term education campaign communicating shared conservative values.
Orlando Sanchez (born 14 October 1957 in Havana, Cuba) is an American politician, elected three times as Treasurer of Harris County, Texas (2006), 2010, and 2014.
A naturalized citizen, Sanchez has made political history as the first Latino immigrant to be elected to a citywide position in Houston, when he won the at-large seat on the city council, to which he was twice re-elected in consecutive terms, serving 1995–2001. In 2001 and 2003 he ran for mayor of Houston, gaining an alliance with Republican Anglos and generating high voter turnout in the Hispanic community. Both times he made it to the runoffs. When elected as Treasurer of Harris County, he was the first Latino immigrant to win a countywide, non-judicial elected office in that county.

(Friday, April 28m 2023, Bastrop Texas) BCRP wishes to thank the 80 participants for their friendly, generous, and competitive spirit, and for coming out for an excellent afternoon round of golf. The early day clouds broke for the 1:00 shotgun start presenting mostly sunny skies for the duration of the game, and the wind did not deter anyone from having a enjoyable day. Team Scores showed both skilled players, and those out to enjoy an afternoon of camaraderie, fellowship and sunshine.
Results after 18 holes:
Finishing in 3rd place was team “Fire King” of players Charlie King, Wesley King, Okas King, and Colby King with a score of 60.
Finishing in 2nd place was team “We The People” of players Roger Lightsey, Randy Williams, John Postle, and Dick Dinan with a score of 59.
Finishing in 1st place was team “Patriot Equipment Team Number 2” of players Shawn Kana, Chad Benoit, Shawn Juarez and Jonathon Juarez with a score of 58.
Additional awards went to:
“Closest to the Pin Hole #3” winner Randy Mutschink;
“Closest to the Pin Hole #13” winner David White; and
‘Longest Drive Hole #4” winner Randy Williams.
Each player, on the winning teams, will receive a trophy to take home, and a title to defend at the 2nd BCRP Golf Classic in 2024.

This months Informational Meeting will feature Kelly Perry, also known as a “Border Warrior”. She is a current SREC Committeewoman for SD 19. Kelly is a Proud Patriot of Texas, and she has served as Legislative Priorities Chair, Sub Committee Border Security; and Border Security Advisor for the National Board of Moms of America. Kelly is Vice President Special Events and Past President for Kinney County Republican Women.
Kelly will discuss her continued full time tasks of fighting the Border Crisis, her efforts working and supporting Legislative priorities, including strengthening penalties for Drug Smugglers and Human Trafficking. Last September Kelly hosted a Border Security Summit at the Texas Capitol, assembling the greatest Border Experts from around the state and nation. Kelly will also be discussing living in a Border County, and how you can make a difference in the fight to save our state and country.
